Procedures for providing Interpreter/ Translation Services to ELL Parents at the building level
Teachers will arrange for meetings and communication with families that need interpreting services:
1. School will send translated letters in the parent's requested language informing them that an interpreter will be at scheduled meetings. Letters will also be sent for all Parent/Teacher Conference and Back to School Nights.
2. All requests for Interpreters and Translators will go through Volatia Language Network.
3. Teachers and staff that need to request an Interpreter in person for any language other than English (including American Sign Language) should contact their building Volatia Manager.
4. Teachers and staff that need to communicate with non-English speaking families should contact your building Volatia Manager to retrieve your individual building code to contact Volatia. You will be able to call the toll free number, use your building code, select the language you need and have an interpreter within seconds. You will also be able to make video calls when necessary.
5. Spanish Interpreters will be scheduled automatically for each school building for Back to School Orientation, Parent/Teacher Conference Days and Special Education Eligibility Meetings by your building Volatia Manager. If you need any language other than Spanish you will need to contact your building Volatia Manager. (Including American Sign Language)
